Matt: You’re an historic guest on this podcast.

Jen: It’s like 20 times?

Matt: Twenty times. You know, you’re the female Alec Baldwin, like to SNL. You’re the female version for the podcast.

Jen: For those who aren’t watching the hidden camera I’ve set in the room, there was a woman cleaning something off the table when he said “Historic guest,” she was like, “Oh my god, I just ruined it!” Her face was priceless.

Matt: Angouleme … This is my first time at Angouleme, so I’m trying to bring a little of that to our listeners, and you have Drifter, from Glenat, and I’ve read this previously. There’s one particular reason I like it, but as like a pitch to people who are listening and haven’t read it yet, do you want to think of maybe like a space pilot, kind of Han Solo/Flash Gordon-esque, crash-lands on a planet not his own, and some shady stuff happens, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get out any time soon. Matt: Who knows? Who knows? … was the character really reminded me of another one of my favorite characters, Heath Houston, from Fear Agent.

Ivan: Oh wow.

Matt: There was a lot of kind of redemption in that, and was that something that you particularly were drawn to in kind of putting this character together for Drifter?

It blew my mind, so I’m anxious to talk to you. Southern Bastards is here, and it’s in another language. I view Southern Bastards as like, I guess from an outsider’s view, it’s like one of the most American comics you get get.
