Can you fine folks recommend good romance comics that are available on your store? Thank you!

HI DANNYKAT YES ROMANCE IS GOOD. There’s a resurgence in that genre that we like very very much, and here are some of our top picks! (Publisher in parentheses)

Too legit to quit:

Alex + Ada (Image) - a guy gets an android for a present and realizes non-sentience is weird. He tries to fix this. This series just ended so if you’re looking for a shorter completed story, this is a good one!

Fables (Vertigo) - all your fave fairy tales living in NYC! Long but totally worth it, plus it just wrapped! (I ship the main endgame couple so hard. I’m actually planning a reread soon to bask.)

Fresh Romance (Rosy Press) - this new 100% romance comic just launched, so you basically haven’t missed anything yet! #4 just dropped, actually. 3 stories/issue, in #1 we meet two high school girls hiding their love, a regency wedding full of regret, and a magical barista making meet-cutes!

Young Avengers (Marvel) (2013) - teenage superheroes = dramarama, also omg that ART.

Old school magic:

We would be remiss for not recommending Elf Quest (Dark Horse), which is a fantasy book that focuses on the character relationships & soul recognition that leads to lots of emotional turmoil.

Weird Love (IDW) is SPECTACULAR. It’s reprints of romance comics from the middle of the 20th century and you won’t be able to put it down. It’s over the top and dramatic and glorious and you will love it.

Guilty pleasures:

Midnight Secretary (Viz): efficient secretary realizes her boss is a vampire, falls in love (lust?) with him, he only wants her blood. You’ll wonder why Twilight got the vampire love movie deal after reading this gem.

Basically all the Harlequin manga and the DC Thomson STAR Romance comics, but especially these:

Mistress Bought and Paid For (Harlequin) - Our heroine is a supermodel who has fallen on hard times, our hero is her billionaire ex-boyfriend seeking revenge.

Passionate Sinner (Harlequin) - Nurse accidentally blinds doctor and follows him to the tropical island he’s recovering on.

Domesticating Luc - Business tycoon + dog trainer = true puppy love

Not exactly a romance but I need to talk about it:

Batman/Huntress Cry for Blood: Huntress explores her past with the help of the Question. There’s this one panel that makes my heart ache just thinking about it. Crucial reading if you ever watched JLU.

Share the love,

I've always wanted to read Superman for all Seasons, but that cover always seems to dissuade me. Is there any way you fellas can convince me to read it?

While the cover has a particular, faded (nostalgic) style which may be what’s putting you off(?), the inside art pops like whoa. The illustrations are richly detailed and the backgrounds are incredibly detailed. Not to mention this is coming from the team who gave you the amazing Batman: The Long Halloween.

I mean… look at these pages.
