The New Teen Titans by George Perez, in honor of Marv Wolfman’s birthday today.
Marv and George’s New Teen Titans 16 was the comic that brought me to DC after only being a Marvel kid. Marv also inspired me to write my first fan letter when I was a little kid, for his work on Fantastic Four, which netted me an actual No-Prize (the reward for a kid sending in a hand-written fan-letter, not for anything like pointing out an error in the comic).
Gene Simmons likes to mention how he and Marv once created a fanzine together back before he formed KISS, but their paths obviously diverged from there. Which turned out good for comics… but had Marv only played the sax or some other instrument back then, his world might be very different now…
Anyway, happy birthday to the Wolfman!
