Currently we have it listed in our database as coming out on 4/8

hi there! i was wondering, if you wanted to get into the secret avengers, could you start with the 2014 series, or the one that ran from 2013-14?
If you wanna read the amazingly weird and awesome Secret Avengers run by Ales Kot and Michael Walsh you can 100% just start with the first issue, it’s kinda out in a world of it’s own.

I really, really want to read Spider-Gwen, but comic books are simply too expensive these days. However, I think I can swing it (ah-ah, get it?) if I don't have to read all of that Edge of the Spider-Verse stuff. Can I jump right into this new series, or would that be a mistake?
So… yes. You can just jump into Spider-Gwen #1 and be fine. Just know it takes place in a different world than the main Marvel stuff. There’s a recap at the beginning of the issue that kinda helps out. (spoliers here)
You don’t need to read ALL of Edge of Spider-Verse if all you care about is Gwen, but the Spider-Verse event was actually really rad.
However, Edge of Spider-Verse #2, where Spider-Gwen debuted, was SUCH A GOOD ISSUE and gives you a good sense of the world Spider-Gwen lives in.

Quick question about The Multiversity. Is there going to be another Master Men or Pax Americana? I'm not entirely sure how Grant Morison operates, and the fact that they're published as the first issue of a larger series confuses me even more.
I think they’re all one shots that kind of tie together to make up the overarching “Multiversity” storyline. My guess is that the “#1s” on there are more of a metajoke about the books themselves.

Oh no! I'm too overwhelmed by your Submit Holiday Sale! Can you fine folk(s) recommend your favorite books amongst this sale? Thanks!
It really depends what you’re in the mood for, I think you’re pretty safe picking out any of the books from the featured section we made, but if you want a random pick The Mire by Becky Cloonan is pretty rad.

hello, I want to start reading comics but I don't know we here to start! I love Marvel's characters, but there are so many back stories and stuff in every comic ;c maybe u could help? Pls ;3
Hey anon!
Thanks for writing in. You’re right, there is SO MUCH backstory out there and for a new reader it can be really overwhelming.
IMHO, you can just start with any of the Marvel NOW branded series and go from there. Once you get comfortable reading comics and figure out who your new favorite characters are you can go back and read older comics featuring them and flesh out more of their history.
I put together this really quick list that will link you to some starting points for different Marvel characters. Just click through to the series and start at #1! If you have any requests for reading lists for specific characters I will do my best to throw one together for you.
What do the rest of you out in tumblrland think?

UPDATE: nocturnal-knight said: Daredevil (2011-2014) and then the current volume of Daredevil, both by Mark Waid. She-Hulk + Storm is amazing. When it comes to the Asgardians, you’d have to ask an expert, there’s so much stretching far back right now even in the reboots. (I added these to the list… and also Superior Foes of Spider-Man because it’s great)

Is the National Comic Book day event for US customers only or does it apply in your stores for other countries?
The code should work on any of the webstores, regardless of country.

Are there plans for a digital release of Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Seconds"? Apologies if someone already asked this.
We would love to (I read it and it’s great), but it’s published by Ballantine Books which we don’t currently carry. Hopefully one day though!

Best graphic novels/starters for kids? My 7-year-old nephew needs encouragement with reading. I have a lot of graphic novels but none I can think of that I would give a 7-year-old who wasn't my own kid. Thanks!
I turned this one over to the people here with kids and here’s what I got back:
- ARiOL - ARiOL is your everyday tween donkey. He lives in the suburbs with his mom and dad. His best friend is a pig. He’s in love with a beautiful cow in his class. His teacher is a dog. His gym teacher is a huge rooster. In short, ARiOL is just like you and me! This series from multiple-award-winning author Emmanuel Guibert is a hilarious adventure through recess, silly nicknames, gym class, and everything else life throws our way!
- Korgi - Top Shelf is proud to announce the signing of an all new, all-ages series of graphic novels, entitled Korgi. Christian Slade, a former Disney animator and currently full-time freelance illustrator, has brought to Top Shelf a gorgeously illustrated woodland fantasy about a young girl Ivy, her dog Sprout, and their amazing adventures in Korgi Hollow.
- Aw Yeah Comics! - AW YEAH COMICS!!! It’s FINALLY here! The catch phrase? The store? Nope. THE COMIC! This is it! The comic you’ve heard so much about! Action Cat! Adventure Bug! And their adventures in the Aw Yeah Comics Universe! Who is Evil Cat? Why does he want pancakes so bad? Does he need them for his evil plans? It’s up to Action Cat and Adventure Bug to stop him!
