Have you been looking to get into some quality Wolverine books but are unsure of where to start? We’re here for you, friend. Always. Also, so is this 99c sale that is going on RIGHT NOW.

Let’s go down a handy list and talk about some stellar books in this sale, yea?

The Brotherhood: This arc comes to your from Greg Rucka and Darick Robertson. You may know Greg from Gotham Central and Darick from Transmetroplitan. Pretty good company. These two creators were tasked with a brand new #1 for Wolverine and brought things back to basics. Logan is minding his own business living in some some crummy apartment passing the time reading some literary classics. You know, that’s how Wolverine rolls. However, the mysterious death of a woman that lives in his building throws him into the chaotic violent life he’s known for. He wants revenge. Oh MAN does he want revenge. (Trivia time! Word on the street is that Mr. Rucka originally wanted to title this series “Logan” due to him never appearing in costume and this book taking place in his downtime. Kinda like Hawkeye before its time, bro.)

Enemy of the State: Mark Millar and John Romita JR bring you essentially what would be their ultimate Wolverine movie. Logan gets brainwashed into doing the Hand’s bidding and all hell breaks loose. Just about every superhero in the Marvel Universe tries to take him down..and fails! Did we mention JRJR was on pencils? Holy smoke, this guy.

Get Mystique: Mystique has been a thorn in the X-Men’s side for a long time. But THIS time she really screwed them. Cyclops tasks Logan with taking her down permanently. This 4 part story reveals Logan and Mystique’s history together as well as their final battle(?).

The Package: Black Panther needs a favor. Get into Africa, grab a package, and make sure it gets delivered. Militants want to make sure that does NOT happen. FYI, the package is a baby. OMG WHAT. Stuart Moore and C.P. Smith tell an amazing double-sized story in this single issue that will be added to your list of faves. We’re telling you.

Prisoner Number Zero: This one-shot from Mark Millar and Kaare Andrews tells a story of our favorite X-Man in a World War II concentration camp. (Trivia time! Mark Millar had trouble working what was essentially a cartoon character into a very real environment where real people lost their lives. He spoke with Will Eisner while writing and he suggested removing all of Logan’s dialog from the story to add a ghostly effect.) Grab this book at all costs!

Old Man Logan: This is the big one. Think Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven but with Logan. Now add in some glorious Steve McNiven pencils. Boy howdy! Set in the future, Wolverine has put aside his violent ways thanks to an unsettling even in his past. Gone is the long, luxurious hair, and it’s been years since he’s shown his adamantium claws. He and his family live peacefully on their farm. Happy. That is, until the Hulk Gang does something that changes Logan’s peaceful life forever. (The event that changed Logan into a pacifist haunts us to this day!)
