Kevin’s Picks of The Week (7/24/2013)

  • PICK OF THE WEEK: Lookouts #6: This is the perfect Summertime series. I want to read it under a blanket with a flashlight, but let’s be honest, that’s a little weird. In this issue The Lookouts confrontation with the Sphinx reaches its peak and we finally learn about Eli’s (one of my favorite members of the troop) true powers.
  • TomorrowLand #1: A new series from an Eisner winning creative team published by one of the biggest names in the UK! TomorrowLand is just off-beat enough for Titan’s Tank Girl sensibility yet delivers a story reminiscent of recent Spider-Man at it’s very best.  Needless to say this debut issue should not be missed.
  • Hunger #1: Maybe it’s all the excitement from the Avengers 2: Age of Ultron announcement at Comic-Con. Or maybe I’m still reeling from the events of the comic’s recent finale. Either way Hunger #1 has me stoked for whatever Marvel has lined up next.
  • The Deep: Here There Be Dragons: An all-ages adventure from the writer of Injustice and distributed through comiXology submit? Sign me up! Tom Taylor’s work often frequents the bestseller list on comiXology and I’m sure his underwater adventure series will be joining the ranks of his work at DC shortly.

Kevin tweets, tumbles, and gives the occasional thumbs up across comiXology’s social media platforms. He is currently still recovering from Comic-Con International.
