Book 22 of 2016: Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Valentine De Landro

What I liked: OMG this is amazing. I think all you need to know is the premise: in a dystopian theocracy, all non-compliant women are sent away to a prison planet. Does that sound awesome? Because it is. It’s like a B-movie with a feminism bomb inside. It’s funny and sharp and painful and powerful and amazing.

Who should read it: Everyone! Especially if you like graphic novels and badass women–but even if you’re not a graphic novel person usually, give this a try.

If you like this, you should try: The Handmaid’s Tale; Saga; Dare Me; The Secret History of Wonder Woman; Bad Feminist; Bad Behavior; Lucy; The Girl on the Train; Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?

Bitch Planet’s on sale, or you can read it with comiXology Unlimited!
