Now if you’ve read Preacher then you know how violent and sexual and ridiculous it was.

Well The Boys is like ten times more violent and sexual and ridiculous. 

Ennis has said that the series would “out-Preacher Preacher”

If you are easily offended.. avoid this at all costs. Seriously. You’ve been warned. Like really.

There’s a couple of pages later on which are some of the most fucked up things i’ve ever seen in a comic tbh. And i’ve read Crossed.

Also.. on that Queen Maeve cover.. those aren’t tears.

But what is it about?

The series is set between 2006–2008[1] in a world where superheroes exist. However, most of the superheroes in the series’ universe are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. For this reason, a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as “The Boys”, is charged with monitoring the superhero community; the name is Butcher’s contribution, a reference from his neighborhood that those in power would “send the boys” to handle anyone causing trouble.

Who are The Boys?

Billy Butcher - He’s an Englishman in New York. Incredibly violent and just as smart. He takes great joy in killing Super “heroes” .. why? You’ll find out. And it’s fucked up. He has a Bulldog called Terror who he has trained to fuck anything on his command.

Wee Hughie - He’s based on Simon Pegg. His girlfriend is killed because a speedster from the Superteam ‘The Seven’ is a douchebag. Butcher then recruits him to The Boys. He meets a nice girl later but doesn’t know she has a secret.

Mother’s Milk - When you find out how he got his name you’ll just be like ‘wat!’. He doesn’t think that every Super is a bad person.

The Frenchman - He’s crazy. And more than likely not French. He has a very strong sense of smell. And he’s extremely violent. He’s the 2nd most violent person on the team.. and #1 is NOT Butcher.

The Female (of the species) - Her violence shocks even Butcher sometimes. She has a thing for ripping faces off. She suffers from Selective mutism and has a very close bond with The Frenchmen.
