Uber 99c Comixology Sale

I’m reminded that Comixology are doing a sale of all of Uber Volume 1 right now. All issues 99c. Uber is one extreme pole of my work - an serious-mode over-researched alternate history of WW2, based around Nazi Germany inventing Enhanced Humans which come into play during the Siege of Berlin. It’s a book which is very much about the high level campaigns, and spends about equal times with the main Allies and Axis powers.

If I had to sum up the book’s intent, it’s that the majority of WW2 Superhero books tend to use it as a setting to expand superhero stories. Uber is explicitly interested in what using Enhanced Humans can say about WW2. It’s a book about WW2, my reading of it, and various elements connected to it.

Volume 2 is coming next year, and this is a good chance to catch up if you haven’t. If you want to give it a shot, I’d suggest either the first six issues (0-5) or the first year (0-11). The earliest stuff is some of my earliest superhero work (issue 0 was the second script in the genre I ever wrote) and as such, I tend to think the book doesn’t entirely show its merits until the end of the first arc or really show why it’s worthwhile until issue 11.

Uber is basically unlike any other superhero comic I’m aware of. I was writing the book the year I was doing Young Avengers, and the tonal backlash between the two was extreme, to say the least.

If you’re interested, you can find it here.
