Kevin’s Picks of The Week (9/18/2013)

Pick of The Week: INKSHOT: A showcase of some of the best Brazilian comics of the 21st Century, and it’s only available on comiXology thanks to our friends at Monkeybrain Inc. needless to say, it’s a must read.

Adventure Time #20: Once again the Adventure Time team at BOOM! Studios find a way to hook me with a new jumping on point. With the issue actually stylized after old school first person RPG adventure games, you don’t just read this issue – you experience it!

Five Ghosts Vol.1: The Haunting of Fabian Grey: An entire trade for only 10 bucks! You can’t beat it, Five Ghosts is one of the best new comics of 2013! If you haven’t read it yet now is the perfect time.

Harbinger #16: After the shocking events of the last issue the twists and turns in this week’s installment make for an enjoyable read as the series heads in a new direction. Another great jumping on point as Valiant heads toward Unity.

Kevin tweets, tumbles, and gives the occasional thumbs up across comiXology’s various social media platforms, he is currently planning a trip to Brazil got any suggestions.

Kevin’s Picks of The Week (9/11/2013)

Eternal Warrior #1:  Been waiting for this one for a long time. Valiant’s all-new Eternal Warrior makes his debut and it is awesome! With an origin story that spans generations, this is an adventure I am definitely looking forward to more of.

Kings Watch #1: Classic pulp characters reunited to save the world. I don’t know what it is about revamped heroes that gets me every time, but this book has it in spades!

Justice League #23.2: Lobo: The New 52’s Lobo is here at last, and under the watchful pen of Marguerite Bennett he’s taking center stage in a space-farring one-shot that is sure to thrill. A highlight from this week’s Villains Month books - do not miss it.

Indestructible Hulk #13: It’s The Hulk in Camelot, need I say more?

Kevin tweets, tumbles, and gives the occasional thumbs up across comiXology’s various social media platforms, he is currently trying to figure out how to get to SPX this weekend.

Kevin’s Picks of The Week (8/21/2013)

  • PICK OF THE WEEK: Edison Rex #9: Things get Meta in this issue and I personally loved every minute of it. There’s even a few Guided ViewTM Native moments stuck in for good measure.  Do yourself a favor and pick this one up, you won’t be disappointed.
  • Daredevil #30: This self-contained story gives the Man Without Fear a taste of the Power Cosmic and a sweet one at that. If you’ve been wondering what all the fuss is about with this series, this issue is just what you need to be reading.
  • Bloodshot #0: Got to love a good secret origin story. Another self-contained single issue, this one shines a light on the Bloodshot project’s early days with an ending that is guaranteed to shock!
  • Doc Unknown #2: This gem of an indie books is fresh from comiXology Submit, yes it’s another secret origin issue but the art is fun and the story top-notch. If you’ve been looking for something new, check out Doc Unknown.

Kevin tweets, tumbles and gives the occasional thumbs up across comiXology’s social media profiles. He sometimes dreams in sequential art.
