All Hail #NewComicDay! Here are some books we think you should check out this week!

Batman Eternal #1 -You know… I was thinking that there weren’t enough Batfamily books out there. But, wouldya look at the list of names on that cover? How can you not pick this up??
Shutter #1 - Friend of the show joekeatinge has a new book out on Image and its all about a girl named Kate Kristopher the world’s greatest explorer. Scott Snyder says its “bold, smart fun — a stunning book on every front.” While kierongillen said it’s “oyous and Heartfelt science-fiction pop with all the capital-R Romance of  the last roll of polaroid film on Earth.” How can you turn that down??
Nightcrawler #1 - Chris Claremont and Nightcrawler return to X-Men. ‘Nuff said.
Iron Fist: The Living Weapon #1 - My only real knowledge of Iron Fist came from our lord and savior mattfractionblog and Ed Brubaker, and that’s going to be hard to top, but maaaan am I excited. Hey, have we heard anything new about those Marvel Netflix Series?
Lumberjanes #1 - The book we were so excited for it got it’s own post. If you skip this one you’ll probably be the only person on the internet that did. gingerhaze ohheygrace and brookeallen are going to be superstars.

Wednesday, to everyone else it’s Humpday, the middle of the week, the bottom of the doldrum-pit that is the weekly grind, but to all of us comic fans it’s the shining beacon of hope and ecstasy that is #NewComicDay! Here are the books gettin’ us all riled up today:

Silver Surfer #1 - Is this the most anticipated All-New Marvel NOW comic to come out this year? All that matters is that I get to see some Mike Allred space action goodness.
The Wake #7 - You can pretty much just rest assured at this point that whatever weeks the Wake comes out, it will be on my list. Please get caught up on this series so we can talk about it. #friendship
Iron Patriot #1 -aleskot! Are we friends yet? Pretty stoked to pick this one up, especially since I know you and kellysue collaborated a bit.
The Bunker #2 -  The best TV show that is actually a comic you can pick up right now. Only two issues in! Go!
The Sandman: Overture #2 - The wait is finally over. Even if I couldn’t read at all I could still look at the art in this book and be mesmerized.
Hawkeye #18 - It’s a Kate Issue…/ITS A KATE ISSUE! (This reminds me of Lost and “Kate Episodes”)
Deadpool #26 - These flashback issues have been a lot of fun, and even though I’m really excited to get to the big wedding issue coming up next, I see Cable (and uh… an enraged Hitler?) on the cover of this one and can’t wait to read it.
Rat Queens vol. 1: Sass and Sorcery - If you’re not reading this (or planning to) I assume you just woke up from a coma and this is your first time on Tumblr. Love u kurtiswiebe and johnnyrocwell

You know when you wake up, and the week feels like it couldn’t possibly get any longer, but then you realize it’s #NewComicDay and everything is going to be alright? Today is one of those days. Here are my picks for the week:

Saga vol. 3 - So much insanity happened in this last arc that I really can’t wait to go back and re-read all of it. If you’re one of the few that hasn’t jumped on the Saga bandwagon, now is a good chance to get all the way caught up before the new issue comes out in May. PS luv u oswald d heist.
Thor: God of Thunder #20 -  Did you see how #19 ended?!?! Who’s ready to see Old Thor vs. Galactus. This guys is. That’s who!
Sex Criminals #5 -I’ll be the first to admit SexCrims4 fell a bit flat for me, but I just finished reading #5 and I guess the refractory period is over #ifyaknowwhatimsayin
Zero #6 - Ugh, just read Zero already, will ya? I can’t explain it, just take my word for it. And pay close attention TO EVERYTHING.
Ms. Marvel #2 - gwillow has the next comic book juggernaut on her hands, i tell u what. Issue #1 was so much fun, I can’t wait to read #2.
Letter 44 #5 - I heard so much buzz when this book first came out, but haven’t heard much since, but let me tell you something… THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE! It’s only 5 issues in so you can go and get caught up during your lunch break or something. Go!

So many great releases from Marvel today I had to force myself to include some other publishers on here! I’ve been looking forward to this #NCBD for a long time.

Captain Marvel #1 - FINALLY! When the last run of kellysue's Captain Marvel went on hiatus it felt like March was never going to come, but now it's here and my week just got a hell of a lot better! If you've never picked up Captain Marvel before (HOW?) now's your chance to get in on the ground floor.
Batman #29 - It feels like Zero Year has been going on forever, but now that it’s almost done, I’m actually a little bummed thinking about moving away from young Bruce Wayne.
Deadpool #25.NOW -The .NOW means this is a good jumping on point for new readers who want to get into Deadpool, and while it totally is, I would never forgive myself if I didn’t recommend you at least go back to issue #15 and start from there
Hawkeye #17 - Listen, just a heads up, I flipped through this already and it doesn’t look like it picks up from where the last issue left off at all so you ain’t gettin any resolution. Just a Christmas issue in March….
Secret Avengers #1 - Written by my best friend aleskot (Yes, we’re best friends now, Ales.) The all-new Secret Avengers are ready to get started. Three missions kick off at the same time: one in the space, one on the ground…and one in the air. And no one’s ready. Except for the attackers. Russian spa. Helicarrier. Space station. Falling satellites. A hired hitman with nothing to lose. The Fury. WAIT. Yes. THE FURY. Why is Hawkeye still around? And why are these people chasing him? Why are Black Widow and Spider Woman in a Russian spa?
Magnus: Robot Fighter #1 - ROBOTS! FIGHTING! ROBOT FIGHTING! In the blink of an eye, young martial artist Magnus has everything taken from him…his father, his wife, his entire life. He’s suddenly thrust into a futuristic world he doesn’t understand, populated by humans and robots living together in oppression! Can Magnus fight to get his life back…and once he learns the truth about himself, will he want to?

Packin up my bags, boots n spurs for good ol TEXAS where I will be bringing you all the best announcements from the Geek Stage at SXSW Interactive. Here are the #NewComicDay books from this week I’m loading up on the trusty iPad for the long flight to the Lone Star State :

Moon Knight #1 - A strange take on the police procedural story; Moon Knight rises from the dead (again!). Ever since their run on Deadpool (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) I’ve been patiently waiting for more Shalvey/Bellaire art. Throw the legendary Warren Ellis into the mix and I’m frothing at the mouth.
Trillium #7 - The penultimate issue of Jeff Lemire’s time-and-space-traveling love story that is as emotionally disorienting as it is physically. If you haven’t been reading this, you’re really missing out.
Adventure Time: Seeing Red - kateordiekateordiekateordie! Oh man! I am such a fan of your tumblr and art and personality. So stoked that you wrote an Adventure Time OGN and I can’t wait to read it.
Evil Empire #1 - Another comic by my childhood hero maxbemis! I really have no idea what to expect from this, but Polarity was so much fun I can’t wait.
Afterlife With Archie #4 - No book has been more suprisingly awesome to me than Afterlife with Archie, and now with the announcement that Aguirre-Sacasa is the new Creative Officer of archiecomics I think some well-deserved congratulations is in order! CONGRATS!
Wild Blue Yonder #4 - It’s been a while since issue 3 came out, so it might take a re-read, but diving back into the story of post-apocalyptic dog fighting bad-assery that Wild Blue Yonder is will be more of a treat than anything!
Forever Evil #6 - JUST TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS TO DICK GRAYSON ALREADY!
Magneto #1Cullen Bunn has been ruling the alternate world of Deadpool for a while now, so I can’t wait to see what he can do with the more austere Magneto.

Breaking up your week in the best way possible, #NewComicDay has arrived once again! Here’s some of the books we’re looking forward to reading most this week:

The Wake #6 - Part Two, #1! The Wake returns as our story jumps two hundred years into a flooded future where nothing is the same. If you didn’t read the first half of The Wake, you missed out on one of the most exciting and unpredictable books of 2013. Think Alien if it took place in an underwater laboratory.
Hawkeye #15 - Hawkeye is back! Clint is back! David Aja is back! Everyone celebrate!
Nemo: Roses of Berlin - From the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, continuing in the thrilling tradition of Heart of Ice, Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill rampage through twentieth-century culture in a blazing new adventure, set in a city of totalitarian shadows and mechanical nightmares. Cultures clash and lives are lost in the explosive collision of four unforgettable women, lost in the black and bloody alleyways where thrive the Roses of Berlin.
Rat Queens #5 - Kurtis Wiebe (kurtiswiebe) and Roc Upchurch (johnnyrocwell) have created one of the most entertaining comics out there if you’re a fan of action and adventure and dwarves and elves and mages and mischief. If you’re not into those things, I’m not even sure I want to know you anyway.
Superman: Lois LaneThere has definitely not been enough Lois Lane in the New52, so you have no idea how stoked we are to be releasing this book!
Hacktivist #2 - With a government contract on the table in exchange for their pardons, Nate and Ed open the doors of their social networking company YourLife to the CIA to continue their operations in Tunisia. However, Ed may already be thinking a few moves ahead of them all, with bigger, more dangerous plans for sve_Urs3lf
The Walking Dead #122 - Does this book really need an introduction at this point?
