Packin up my bags, boots n spurs for good ol TEXAS where I will be bringing you all the best announcements from the Geek Stage at SXSW Interactive. Here are the #NewComicDay books from this week I’m loading up on the trusty iPad for the long flight to the Lone Star State :

Moon Knight #1 - A strange take on the police procedural story; Moon Knight rises from the dead (again!). Ever since their run on Deadpool (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) I’ve been patiently waiting for more Shalvey/Bellaire art. Throw the legendary Warren Ellis into the mix and I’m frothing at the mouth.
Trillium #7 - The penultimate issue of Jeff Lemire’s time-and-space-traveling love story that is as emotionally disorienting as it is physically. If you haven’t been reading this, you’re really missing out.
Adventure Time: Seeing Red - kateordiekateordiekateordie! Oh man! I am such a fan of your tumblr and art and personality. So stoked that you wrote an Adventure Time OGN and I can’t wait to read it.
Evil Empire #1 - Another comic by my childhood hero maxbemis! I really have no idea what to expect from this, but Polarity was so much fun I can’t wait.
Afterlife With Archie #4 - No book has been more suprisingly awesome to me than Afterlife with Archie, and now with the announcement that Aguirre-Sacasa is the new Creative Officer of archiecomics I think some well-deserved congratulations is in order! CONGRATS!
Wild Blue Yonder #4 - It’s been a while since issue 3 came out, so it might take a re-read, but diving back into the story of post-apocalyptic dog fighting bad-assery that Wild Blue Yonder is will be more of a treat than anything!
Forever Evil #6 - JUST TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS TO DICK GRAYSON ALREADY!
Magneto #1Cullen Bunn has been ruling the alternate world of Deadpool for a while now, so I can’t wait to see what he can do with the more austere Magneto.

Check these out and all the other new releases available today on comiXology!

Wild Blue Yonder #4 cover by Zach Howard; colors by Nelson Daniel. One of a thousand thousand examples of the wizardry that color artists bring to comics. But then again, every day is #coloristappreciationday for me.

Incidentally, this issue is very obviously shipping late, but it’s done and off to print today, so look for it in early March. When you see what Zach and Nelson have done in this issue, you’ll see why this sort of thing takes added time.

If you’re not reading Wild Blue Yonder you need to take a minute to reassess your priorities…

ryallsfiles:

Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two #1 pages 2-3 art by Ulises Farinas; colors by Ryan Hill. Here’s the full, uncovered spread in all its glory. This series is coming in January, and available for pre-order right now.

Finally! It’s time to take a trip into Mega-City Two!

Holy Smokes, Ulises Farinas! How is this art even possible?

Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two #1 is now available on comiXology!

The best day of the week is back again! It’s #NewComicDay! Here’s some of the books we’re looking forward to reading most this week:

Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two #1 (of 5) - Dredd heads Californee way! As part of a judicial exchange program, Dredd is sent packing to Mega-City Two, a sprawling city covering 5,000 square miles of the Californian West Coast and centered in what was once known as Los Angeles, where he soon discovers that they do things differently there.
Batman (2011-) #27 - "Zero Year" reaches an all-important crossroads as Batman and Jim Gordon try to turn the lights back on in Gotham City. This issue leads directly into the final arc of Zero Year, which begins in our next issue!
The Walking Dead #120 - ALL OUT WAR continues!
All-New Invaders #1 - The KREE EMPIRE intends to conquer the universe using a weapon that will grant them an army of NORSE GODS.
Deadly Class #1 - Welcome to the most brutal high school on Earth, where the world’s top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art. Killing is a craft. At King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, the dagger in your back isn’t always metaphorical, nor is your fellow classmates’ poison.
Bad Ass #1 - If Kick-Ass and Deadpool had a baby, it would be Bad Ass! The only difference being that Dead End is a villain through and through with no intentions of serving anyone. What makes Dead End so great is his self-aware humor and biting sarcasm- the mark of a true evil genius. Hard to hate and even harder to kill, Dead End is an eloquent psychopath who fights for something better than justice: himself.
All-New X-Men #22.NOW - A jumping-on point for new readers! When alien races learn that Jean Grey, host of the destructive Phoenix Force, is back on earth, they do something about it. Now it’s up to the rest of the All-New X-Men and the Guardians of the Galaxy to save Jean Grey from twisted intergalactic justice!
Hactivist - Ed Hiccox and Nate Graft are young, brilliant, and the co-founders of YourLife, a social networking company that has changed the way the world stays connected. In secret, these best friends are also “sve_Urs3lf,” the largest, white-hat hacking group on the planet, exposing information and sparking revolutions across the globe.
